When nurses in New Jersey went on strike to protest their working conditions, journalist Chris Hedges called it “New Jersey Nurses Versus Godzilla.”  

David imagines Godzilla as a profiteer in the medical industry, surrounded by the consequences of his actions:  unattended sick people, closed hospitals, and the volcano Mt. Aetna, whose eruptions produce dollars.  Against Godzilla are two groups: organized medical professionals and organized Medicaid recipients, who demand healthcare as a human right.
