Tent City (June 2019)
Acrylic on Canvas
40” x 30”
People are always surprised when homeless encampments show up in their neighborhoods. This painting is a composite of tent cities that spring up all over the country as people unable to afford housing seek to satisfy their needs for shelter.
Of this painting, David says, “I chose to show that these tent cities are a form of organization by the homeless population to protect themselves and to share resources. “
