The Dream of Free Public Transportation (September 2023)

Cars are expensive.  Not everyone can afford a car, yet when there are no sidewalks or buses, travel becomes treacherous.  The Ohio man in this painting could often be seen riding his bicycle with a wagon attached to it.  In the wagon was his elderly mother and a bag of groceries.  He would often take her to the doctor and then to the grocery store in this way. 

 Most people without cars had difficulty attending meetings to ask for better transportation.  This painting shows one of the many meetings organized by David’s wife Janet Greene over the course of ten years.  It was a prayer vigil to pray for public transportation in Ohio.  On the right is a picture illustrating the transportation they dreamed of having someday.
